Our History

In 1982, Dwight Foster was fully armed to become an office success with a degree in business economics and literature. However, the high unemployment climate in America was challenging for all job seekers, especially rookies. Determined to make ends meet, Dwight settled for a job selling insurance, knowing it was only temporary. Meanwhile, a trusted friend needed a part-time sidekick to handle car repairs and towing services in his garage. Of course, Dwight was excited to not only help a friend in need, but do something he actually enjoyed.

It is through this opportunity that Dwight realized he could help customers with accurate pricing from learned business knowledge and a “we will fix it right” attitude as a passionate and fulfilling career. In 1987, Dwight opened Foster’s Automotive in Mechanicsburg, and has loved his “untraditional office job” ever since!!
